How is Artificial Intelligence changing our businesses and how do we equip ourselves for it? In my latest post, I share fresh insights straight from Silicon Valley.
Who doesn't feel this way: We are all convinced that Artificial Intelligence and specifically technologies like ChatGPT will change the world, but many of us are unsure what this means specifically for us and our businesses.
What elements should a good AI strategy include? Is it just about a separate AI strategy or should we prepare for a complete shift in our business strategy? What expertise do we need to build and what steps should we take now while we might want to wait with others?
I have decided to explore these and other questions in depth. So I'm taking a two-month sabbatical to attend all the major AI conferences in North America, engage with startups, practitioners, and researchers, and learn as much as I can. The heart of technology development continues to beat in Silicon Valley, so that's where I'll be spending most of my time.
This week, I'm in Santa Clara to attend TechEx North America. Here I'll meet representatives from industry giants like Google and AWS, as well as innovative startups like Kolena and users like Johnson & Johnson.
The range of topics in the discussions with experts and attendees is enormous. In addition to technical aspects and the expected impact on business, there are many discussions about compliance and how to deal with the risks associated with AI. It's exciting to see how seriously ethics issues are being taken, through roles such as the Chief Ethics Officer, and how new regulations and standards such as the upcoming EU regulation and ISO 42001, which defines a management system for artificial intelligence, are being welcomed.
If you are also wondering what AI means for your business, I invite you to join me on this exciting journey. Ask your questions, share your thoughts, and let's learn and explore together. I may not be able to answer all your questions, but I look forward to the dialogue and to benefiting from this experience together. Let's shape the future together.
